New Football Stadium Brings In New Jobs

A new football stadium is coming to Los Angeles, which means people will be hired to build it. That’s great news for both sports fans and people on the job hunt. I didn’t know until just now that it’s been 14 years since an NFL game was played in Los Angeles (keep in mind I am sports-challenged). So this is extra, extra exciting for L.A.!
Where is the stadium?
“It is centrally located in the City of Industry, near to the major population and economic hubs across the Southern California region. With ample access to freeways and public transit, the stadium will be easily accessible to everyone in Southern California.”
Translation? There’s nothing in the City of Industry. Where else were they gonna put it?

Sadly, I must report that the registration for the Joe Jobs Expo ( which is looking for 12,000 union construction workers to start working on the Los Angeles Football Stadium) is now closed. But don’t give up hope. You can still upload your resume here.
If you have previously registered, please upload you resume and we will forward your resume to the appropriate exhibitors and sponsors of the event. Make sure to check out where future Joe Jobs Expo’s will be in your area.
Job seekers can also upload resumes directly via the Los Angeles Football Stadium website. Businesses, contractors and vendors can also contact the people in charge to offer bids. On the main page, scroll down to “Be a Part of our Team” to find the contact form.
Latest Stadium News
Surprisingly, I didn’t find a whole lot of news regarding the new stadium. In fact, the most recent is from early December on My Fox L.A.
Los Angeles – Rumors continue to circulate that not one, but two NFL teams may be coming to Los Angeles… and, if it does happen, it could be as early as next year!
John Semcken III from Majestic Realty is the man behind this project to bring football back to the City of Angels.
The interest is there… and has really gone up since October, when Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill clearing the way for stadium construction in Industry.
How does he know? Well, Majestic set up a website for fans to show support for the project at losangelesfootballstadium.com … and, boy, have they!
Stay tuned for more info, and good luck in the job search.

I sure hope they have a good traffic plan! The impacts are going to be enormous. Good about the jobs, though.
