After just three years on the job, Superintendent Brian Bristol has resigned from the 4,200-student South Pasadena Unified School District and will leave at the end of the month.
“I’ve been given some opportunities to go in a different direction,” he said, adding that he is considering administrative posts in higher education and isn’t ruling out returning to lead a school district.
Bristol, a 25-year veteran educator, is leaving just as voters in the district will vote on a district-sponsored parcel tax June 16 that will generate approximately $2 million a year for the next four years, if approved.
