e11PASADENA – John Muir High School senior Jon Ancona has been selected to receive the prestigious National Merit Scholarship, one of only 8,200 to be designated as National Merit Scholars out of more than 1 million applicants.

“I congratulate Mr. Ancona for earning this prestigious honor,” said Superintendent Edwin Diaz. “The National Merit Scholarship is awarded to only the highest-achieving seniors nationwide, and Mr. Ancona’s accomplishment reflects the hard work of the Muir faculty to provide a challenging and rigorous academic program for its students.”
