Vroman’s Presents Author Elizabeth Gilbert
| No Comment
I know I’ve been talking about Vroman’s a lot lately, but what can I say? They keep hosting all these great events! Vroman’s now presents Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love, in her ONLY Southern California appearance. The event takes place on Friday, January 29 at 7:00 pm in the All Saints Church Sanctuary (132 N Euclid Ave, Pasadena). Gilbert will discuss and sign her newest book, Committed. Tickets are $26.95 and include a copy of the book.
“The author of Eat, Pray, Love continues her story where the last one left off. After falling in love, Elizabeth and Felipe make a pact not to ever be legally joined (both had previously been divorced). However, when Felipe is stopped at the American border, the two discover that they must marry or Felipe will not be able to enter the United States ever again. Gilbert spends the ten months they have to wait for the US government to permit them to return learning about marriage, illuminating the ins and outs of this ancient institution.” (Vroman’s)

About Elizabeth Gilbert
Elizabeth is best known, however for her 2006 memoir EAT PRAY LOVE, which chronicled her journey alone around the world, looking for solace after a difficult divorce. The book was an international bestseller, translated into over thirty languages, with over 7 million copies sold worldwide, and a movie version in the making, starring Julia Roberts. The book became so popular that, in 2008, Time Magazine named Elizabeth as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Elizabeth Gilbert lives in rural New Jersey with her husband, her garden, and far too many beloved pets. She is at work on a new novel.
